The Ahtna - Brennan JV partnership establishes a mentor protégé relationship between J.F. Brennan Company (Brennan) and Alaska Native Corporation subsidiary Ahtna Marine & Construction Company, LLC (AMCC).
Our Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) certified joint venture combines Brennan’s 100 years of experience and AMCC’s reputable SBA 8(a) certified status to better serve clients, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers small business programs.
Both of our companies center operations around safety, quality, and strong environmental management. Those aligned intrinsic values allowed the partnership to take shape and lead to the formalization of a joint venture agreement. Making this partnership official enables us to compete nationwide as an SBA 8(a) certified small business entity for dredging, dam construction, and marine construction opportunities.
J.F. Brennan Company, Inc. (Brennan) is a fourth-generation, family-owned marine construction firm specializing in environmental remediation, dam construction, commercial diving, and submarine cable services. Working closely with public and private owners of water-based infrastructure since 1919, Brennan operates throughout coastal and inland waterways nationwide, maintaining a large fleet of marine equipment backed by more than 500 maritime professionals.

Ahtna Marine & Construction Company, LLC (AMCC) is an SBA 8(a) certified small business and wholly owned subsidiary of Ahtna, Incorporated. As a marine contractor, AMCC is highly experienced in hydraulic and mechanical dredging, land clearing, grading, and site development and specializes in beach renourishment, shoreline protection, wetland enhancement, and marina and port development.
Ahtna, Incorporated (pronounced “Aht-na”) is one of 13 Alaska Native Regional Corporations established by Congress under terms of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. Owned by more than 2,000 shareholders, the majority of whom are of Ahtna Athabascan descent, many Ahtna shareholders still reside in the Ahtna region, the traditional homeland of the Ahtna people.
