Hydraulic cutter head dredging is one of the most efficient ways of removing and transporting materials. Our dredges are configured to use state-of-the-art systems to remove several types of materials. Brennan uses shallow draft, hydraulic cutter head dredges with articulating ladder capabilities. Each dredge is equipped with the latest Real-Time Kinematic Global Positioning System (RTK-GPS) equipment, and outfitted with industrial-strength motion sensors. This system ties into an onboard computer system, allowing the operator to view the process in real time as the dredge progresses through the designed cut.
Once material is removed, it enters a completely sealed pipeline transport system. This transport system is constantly monitored by both the dredge operator and booster pump operators located strategically along the pipeline. The dredge operator uses a series of vacuum gauges, pressure gauges, flow meters, and density meters to monitor and record transport system conditions. Meanwhile, all entities of the entire dredge system are in contact using Brennan’s private channel marine radios with privately held frequency licenses.
