Brennan has developed methods that can be used in rapid dewatering to keep pace with dredge production and be integrated with both the transport and water treatment components of the dredge system. This process also has several options that can be combined to accomplish project-specific goals. The dewatering process often includes a slurry-thickening step that uses sediment-specific polymer injection to speed up the production rate. This aids in achieving the highest density of slurry possible prior to the final dewatering steps.
There are two types of dewatering processes, Passive Dewatering and Active Dewatering.
