Dry Dock Operations Supervisor

Description:

Serve as the Dry Dock supervisor overseeing and executing day-to-day operations of the Port of La Crosse, Brennan Marine, Inc., Dry Dock and related business development opportunities for the Dry Dock.

Specific Responsibilities:

Manage Brennan Dry Dock services Personnel and support staff to perform Dry Dock service, Maintenance and Repair Services and to operate, manage and maintain the Dry Dock and all components of any equipment necessary to perform such services.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years in a Dry Dock environment, including 3 years as lead person in charge.
  • Experience in all areas of vessel repair work, barge repair and construction, mechanical, steel and structural work.
  • Knowledgeable in safety and regulatory requirements  of Coast Guard, OSHA and AWO RCP
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Proven ability for managing a large and diverse group of personnel within field of expertise and providing direction for resolving complex work assignments
  • Functioning decisively and proactively in anticipating and addressing opportunities and problems that affect the Dry Dock
  • Demonstrated experience in partnering with HR & Management in hiring effective people and the ability to empower, delegate to, and mentor those people
  • Effective team management with the ability to clearly define objectives and measure results and attainment of goals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to customers and potential clients, must also be demonstrated
  • A track record of working well with a variety of personalities and adapting communication style to the audience
  • A practice of sharing information and ensuring that the executive team as well as direct weekly reports are kept up to date on significant matters related to the division.
